Could A Heated Dog Bed Help | Dog Training Yuba City

Could A Heated Dog Bed Helpdog training

You might think the title of this post, could a heated dog bed help, is kind of crazy. But if youve tried a lot of different ways to stop your dog from barking and it still hasnt worked, you have to ask yourself why is he still barking.

There has to be some reason for his barking. Dogs dont bark for no reason after all. Think about some of the possible reasons. Maybe hes frustrated or wants some attention. Maybe something has got his attention and hes trying to assert himself. Maybe hes hungry or lonely, or bored.

Barking for sure is a way that a dog uses to communicate. Its like a baby crying. You just need to figure why that baby is crying, fix the problem and then in a short time, hopefully the baby stops crying.

So my theory is that we have to discover the reason for his barking and then fix the problem. Its really a process of elimination. Try one thing and see if it helps.

I just think that sometimes we dont see physical comfort as a reason for barking. Its hard to tell if a dog is uncomfortable because they often just lay there and maybe bark.

My dog loved being outside but when he was inside he was always curled up next to the heat vent on what I thought was a nice cushy pillow. Hed let out the occasional whine or sharp bark. I just thought he wanted a little attention so Id go and give him a good scratch by his ears. He loved that, but the time came when his pillow need replacing.

Since it was in the dead of winter and really cold, I checked out a few articles about dog beds and read about a heated dog bed. I thought Id get one and give it a try. Well, I have to tell you, my dog is now the picture of contentment. (No more of those little barks inside the house anymore either.)
