Camping With My Dog Part II
Sunset Bay State Park- Coos Bay, Oregon
This beach is located about 2.5 miles out of the town of Charleston on Coos Bay in Oregon. Charleston is a fishing village that offers many opportunities for crabbing, clamming or fishing. The campground is beautiful, clean, handicap accessible and very family friendly. They offer a lot of classes for children and a "hands-on" educational center. There is also a HUGE park right next to the beach with picnic tables, horseshoe pits and sand volleyball. As with most campgrounds, four-legged family members must be kept on a leash. BUT in Oregon, most beaches welcome dogs to enjoy the sand with their two-legged family members. You can read here on guidelines and which trails allow dogs (There is a network of trails that
connect Sunset Bay with nearby Shore Acres and Cape Arago State Parks.) |

| Yurts to Rent! One yurt is dog friendly. Other yurts are handicap accessible. |

| Interesting little tid-bit about Sunset Bay. My apologies for the blurry text. |
If you missed last week, I wrote about Crescent City, CA and a photo contest. Next week, I will be writing about our camping trip to Crater Lake.
